The Hellabrunn 2010 Spring Youngsters
As we all know, spring is a good time come to the zoo in Munich to see our latest young ones. If you go to our Asia area you will be able to see the Mishmi Takin half sisters Keiko und Kimi born at the beginning of March, as well as Kermit, the small Java Banteng calf. In the Africa area our little Elen Antilopes, Kato and his half sister Kimani, try their level best to run around. Here you can also see our newborn Hartmann mountain zebra, who arrived at the end of March. Lots of little goats, tiny Humboldt penguins, four small Agoutis, and a small Greater Kudu are just waiting for your visit!
In case you were wondering why all our newly-born have names that start with a “K”, each year the next letter in the alphabet is taken so that we can then quickly see in which year a certain animal was born. Hence, 2010 is our ‘K’ year. Don’t be surprised if our zoo keepers in the “touch paddock” call out „Knoedel“ and „Kraut“!
